highlighting our newest babe of the month! meet dana --

what is your current schedule at melt?
wednesdays @ mini, thursdays & fridays @ the mothership (front desk), saturdays @ the mothership with clients

what services do you perform at melt?
brow magics, brow flips, brow tints, soon dewy dermaplanes and browzilian blowouts

what is your favorite service to receive at melt?
i haven’t had a full facial @ melt yet but i would assume that!

who has been an inspiration in your journey of life? why and how?
2 people played a big role in my current journey into esthetics. melissa (duh) and my friend brandi who owns wildwood hair co. it was largely by sitting in her chair experiencing the impact that someone in the beauty industry could have on their clients…that went wayyyy beyond beauty…that totally inspired and convinced me what I could accomplish in the industry.

did you always picture yourself being a melt babe/doing what you are doing now?
no! for a long time, i couldn’t picture myself doing anything but a boring office job with good benefits and a stable trajectory. providing for my family meant doing what I had to do. and i WILL always do that. but it was only at the age of 32 that i realized i could merge providing for my family, both financially and emotionally, while also doing something that lit me up.

what is something you wish you knew sooner in your journey to being a melt babe?
melt babes, or anyone in the beauty industry, come in all forms. you don’t have to look a certain way, act a certain way, and or be dreaming about being in the beauty industry since childhood. you belong.

what's your favorite feature or quality of yourself?
my ability to empathize with people and see from multiple POVs.

where have you traveled and what's on your bucket list?
i haven’t traveled very much. i studied abroad in Costa Rica, but there are so many places I haven’t seen. NYC at christmas and a food tour in Italy are at the top of the bucket list.

what does your ritual look like? can be skin care or life in general.
i’m working hard on my morning ritual. which includes waking up at 4:44am…this involves me tirelessly telling myself i’m a morning person over and over again because a morning person wouldn’t actually mind waking up that early…then i meditate, read, and stretch/do yoga. hopefully all before the kids wake up and the morning gets busy. nighttime ritual is jump into comfy clothes and do nighttime skincare as soon as i gets home. into bed right after the last kid is down, and reading before falling asleep (hopefully before 10pm). really prioritizing sleep this year!

what is something you must have on your nightstand?
water, vaseline and a book

if you could choose one thing to test out for a day what would it be?
ceramics!

what big goals do you have set for yourself in 2023?
buy a house! find more ways to romanticize my life! more stretching! more sleep! a solo trip with my husband! as far a work, raise bookability to 75%, and bring in $5k a month.
